The Cheqq alternative to Taskade
Organising the work, or building the thing that does it.
Taskade helps a team keep track of what they owe each other. Cheqq builds the function itself — typed records, deterministic workflows, published apps and an agent scoped to each system — so most of the list stops needing to exist.
An AI-native workspace for teams: projects, tasks, outlines, mind maps and notes, with agents that help you plan and write. Its strength is fluidity — one place to think, capture and coordinate, with very little structure imposed.
A workspace for the operations underneath the coordination. Typed records rather than nested lists, workflows that run whether or not anyone is looking, apps for people with no account, and generated documents from the same data.
Why people start looking
Nothing here is a knock on Taskade. These are the points at which one product stops being the right shape for the job, whichever product it is.
A list still needs a person
Tracking a task is not doing it. Every item waits for someone to have the time, which is exactly the constraint you were trying to remove.
Outlines are not records
Nested lists are wonderful for thinking and awkward for querying. Once you need totals, filters and relations, the flexibility starts working against you.
The outside world needs a door
Customers, applicants and suppliers do not want a shared workspace. They want a page that asks them one thing and tells them where their request got to.
The repeat work repeats forever
A recurring task template still produces a task. Something has to actually run the chase, the reconciliation and the report.
Cheqq vs Taskade
Row by row, in plain terms. Where Taskade is the stronger answer, the row says so.
Records and views, plus documents. Built for structure rather than for thinking out loud.
Outlines, mind maps and notes that flip between formats freely — genuinely pleasant for planning, and hard to beat at it.
Records sync live between collaborators, with roles and per-row attribution of who changed what — plus published apps so people outside the team can take part without a seat.
Built around a team working together, with real-time collaboration across every surface of the workspace.
Around 25 field types, two-way relations, formulas and rollups, with seven view types over the same records.
Lists and boards with fields layered on.
Six trigger types, branching, loops, retries, sandboxed code and approval steps with escalation. It runs whether or not anyone opens the app.
Automations and AI agents that assist within the workspace.
Published at their own address, restricted by a binding the server enforces on every request.
Sharing and forms inside the workspace.
A specialist per installed system, each scoped to its own data, that can build and change the system as well as answer about it. Every turn can be restored or forked.
Configurable agents that assist with the content of your workspace.
Real .pptx, .xlsx, .docx and .pdf generated from your records, in your brand — with a full editor, version history and published links behind them.
Documents inside the workspace.
Based on each product's publicly documented capabilities. Both move fast — if something here is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
What you would build instead
Not features to evaluate — sentences you could type on your first afternoon, and what comes back.
The chase does not need to be on a list.
Describe how the follow-up should escalate and it happens on its own — gentle, then firm, then on your desk. Nobody ticks anything, because nobody had to do it.

Rows you can total, filter and relate.
Once the work is typed records rather than nested items, the questions you could never answer from a list — how much, how long, which ones — become a view instead of an afternoon.
Ask the agent that owns the data.
Each system you install comes with its own agent, scoped to its own records. You ask one question and the right one answers, instead of a general assistant guessing which part of the workspace you meant.
When to stay with Taskade
We would rather you picked the right tool than picked ours. These are the cases where Taskade is the better answer.
- Thinking and planningOutlines and mind maps that reshape as you think are a real strength, and structure would only get in the way of that.
- A team that lives in one workspaceIf the job is people coordinating with people, a collaboration-first product is the right shape.
- You want lightnessNot everything should become a system. Sometimes a shared list is exactly the right amount of tool.
Moving across, gradually
You do not have to switch in one go — most people run both for a while and let the Taskade side shrink.
Bring across the list that matters
Export it and import it as a collection. Each item becomes a typed record with fields you can filter, total and relate.
Turn the recurring items into workflows
The ones that come back every week. Describe what should happen and they stop appearing on anyone's list.
Publish the part outsiders touch
The intake and the status page become apps at their own address, so people without accounts stop going through you.
Switching from Taskade
Can I still manage tasks in Cheqq?
Yes — tasks, owners, statuses and boards are all collections and views. The difference is that the process around them can run on its own rather than waiting for someone to move a card.
How are Cheqq's agents different?
They are scoped rather than general. Each installed system gets its own agent that can see only its data, and can build and change that system as well as answer questions about it. Every turn can be restored or forked if a change was wrong.
Do I lose the free-form planning?
Somewhat, and honestly. Cheqq has documents but not mind maps or nested outlines — plenty of people keep a thinking tool alongside it and use Cheqq for the operations underneath.
How do people outside the company take part?
Through a published app at its own address. No account needed, and the binding you write lists the fields it may read or write, enforced by the server on every request.
